i was gonna buy some nice new arches from bmw
for my 89 coupe

and then have them welded in when money permits

just to have the arches cut and fillered and sprayed
it was Ԛ£300

then extra from the bloke next door to weld them in

so probably lookin close to the Ԛ£500 mark

surely this cant be right? :?

anyone got any ideas if this can be done cheaper? :(

Bodyshop prices vary wildly, I suppose it depens on where you live, I had done on my M3, scuttle replaced, evo lip spoiler painted and fitted, front and rear bumpers repainted, rear spoiler repainted, new rear valence fitted, all 4 arches rubbed down and repainted, and a piece of the rear arch cutout and a new piece welded in, all for Ԛ£650! Top notch job too!

Oh and I had the mirrors repainted too!

did u know him simon? thats an awesome price! :D

cheers for the help anyway lads! well before i got a quote
somewhere else by me called rkg, and he did the work on
my mates custom mk 3 astra estate and it was awsome
wat he had done! :D

he quoted me Ԛ£180 to have all four arches rolled and sprayed up
again the rust taken from the left rear arch and a plate welded in
and the aerial removed, smoothed and sprayed!

that seemed fine to me but some of his stuff has cracked before like
my mates custom bumper started to crack after a while, but
on the flipside some of his stuff is also amazing! :)

by the way wats patterned arches :?

Patterned means non original parts mate. Think they are about Ԛ£20 a side for rear arches.

I'm off to get a quote tomorrow for some bodywork, not expecting any change out of Ԛ£1k though

LOL........ yeh just tell the mrs it a "business" trip winkeye winkeye , they guy who im talking about has his own little body shot and he is to be honest fcuking bobbins at his job! he did my mates beemer about 3 week ago and he had both rear arches done, a sill done and boot scabs and rolled his arches for Ԛ£250 spraying included, i think thats a bargain, he did have the car for a while though :? it would be a long "business" trip if you did come because its not a job that can be done in a day as you very well know

I've had work done with the guy before, but don't know the guy personally, he's got a fair size set up too, but mainly does insurance work, and I've seen some of the car's he has repaired...you'd never tell!!

He's going to be doing my recently aquired sport next hopefuly!
