what special sockets do i need?

Female torx. Can't remember the size, but there are three sizes on the E30 (bell housing), and these are the middle one.
Very difficult to get the socket in place for a starter motor change in situ.
I usually use a normal ring spanner for this job, just to hold the heads still. 7/16 AF I think.
