Hi, just wondering how much i would have to shell out for a new windscreen? not urgent but got a few cracks which are beginning to bug me when i'm driving.

the nearest scrappy is 30 miles away and they dont have one, so guessing it will be a case of calling someone out like RAC or auto windscreens etc

Any recommendations/horror stories? (my mondeo had 2 rust patches where it looks like someone used a screwdriver to remove the seal when it was replaced! dont want that on my e30)

If you don't wanna (or can't) go the insurance route, I was quoted Ԛ£180 for a normal green screen and Ԛ£210 for a top-tint by Autoglass.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Do they tend to mind if it's just chips, or will I have to wait til it cracks? winkeye

Apparantly if the chip is no bigger 10mm, it can be repaired on your insurance (if you've got glass cover) and you won't be charegd.
