What engine do you want?

Where are you?

What's your budget?

1.8 & 2.0 not worth it, 2.5 or bigger is only worth the money or trouble.

It might be better to just buy a 325i though.

Budget matters alot.................

I had a 2.5 fitted for that price a while ago.

But I've just fitted a 3.5 for £500 myself.

I wouldn't bother with the 2.0, but remember whatever you do you need to inform your insurance.

M42 1.8 engine from an iS is a worthwhile conversion - certainly preferable to a 2.0 M20.
It won't have the power of the 2.5 M20, but is a straight bolt in, saves changing the front springs that a six pot would require, and pays dividends in the fuel consumption department.

An iS swap will require more than just the engine and gearbox though I think a M42 complete running gear et all sold for a measly 250 recently.

Do all Tourings come with uprated suspension? Thought that was why my 318 sits higher at the front.

The iS and all tourings have the same suspension and brakes etc., give or take different spring rates and damper settings.
A complete iS engine, box, prop and exhaust drops straight in.
