So, the Sport's been off the road since Monday now... went to see it today (wednesday) and the back end is completely in bits. The subframe mounts were knack'd, but I was happy to see all the important metal bits are not rusty at all... and the Diff was kind of in bits too. Everything okay there...

So, here's a list of everything that's being done to it...

Subframe bushes
Trailing arm bushes (powerflex)
Rear wheel bearings
Rear top mounts
Diff output seals (and check-over)
Goodridge braided brake hoses (all round)
Gearbox output shaft seal
Gear selector rod union/bush and new selector rod, etc
Short shift kit (to be fitted by me when she gets home)
Front top mounts
Front control arm bushes (powerflex)
Dizzy cap and arm
Thermostat and temp sensors
Waterpump
Timing belt and tensioner
Alternator and Power steering belts
Power steering pump leak fixed
Exhaust manifold gasket
Oil and Fuel filter replacement
Petrol tank (which was leaking in TWO places)
Handbrake cables

I think that's about it... :!:

I'm sure it's rude to ask, but what's the bill going to be?

Cheers Russ!

The bill...? *cough* I dunno.

I've supplied all the parts, and they came to £550... not including the handbrake cables and Goodridge hoses (which the VERY good guy that's doing all the work for me can get cheap - £70 fitted!!!)

So, I don't know how much the labour is going to be, but he said he'd look after me. He is a really good lad... helped me out on the more difficult tasks with the track car... so I trust him.

Not looking forward to the bill though. Looking forward to picking the car up again afterwards though!

Giles.

Crickey G. That's a whole lot of new bits. I thought your Sport was a good example or are you taking perfectionist to a new level :?:

Is it going to be all back together for a week on Sunday?

DEFINITELY going to be ready for the 23rd, no question about that!

Keeping this one for a while, so want to make sure I'm not going to be having to do work on it every other weekend... I'd rather be updating and modifying it (within limits) than fixing it, if you see what I mean. I don't mind changing shocks, brakes, springs, oil service, etc, but don't want to be having to take off the suspension to replace bushes, or have engines in bits and have it off the road again...

Got the paint to sort out too... but that'll be after the meet... so don't expect a 'perfect' body... she's pretty, but needs minor cosmetics...

Giles.
