Thats right! Smeathorpe is getting its run what you brung and drift what you brung back on after 2 years!

Apparently the strip is going to be a 1/4mile this time not an 1/8 and there will be a big drift track (much bigger than the old "handling course").

My car is sat outside my house leaking fuel, and my fuel pump is now screaming. If the car doesnt make it, i'll still be grabbing a lift of somebody to get there.

Hopefully. Its been never ending recently mate... maybe i'll update my thread when i can be bothered. Changed the spark plugs + TPS, 3 minutes into driving it, i lost a cylinder. Double checked that the spark plugs where adequately tightened and the coils were tight + the earths on - all was fine. Fired her up again and it was fine :screwy: Then i got all this fuel issue!

I'll be taking my dslr camera up anyway, it just means i'll get more time to take some snaps if the car stays at home :)

Free - its the one out of my old m50 throttle body off the m50 inlet i had on my old engine. They are interchangable between the m52 and m50 throttle. They are about £100 new i think

I've recieved this email tonight
Just an update on the event planned at Smeaharpe on Saturday November 20h. We have today met with the local Safety Advisory Group and Police and they have told us we need to make some alterations to the event.
As a comittee we are not particuarly in agreement with the changes but the alternative was not to get a license from the local council and having to cancel the event.

The following changes will be put in place.

1. A strict enforcement by Safety Camera Partnership of speed into and out of the event SPEED CAMERAS
2. a STRICT ADHERENCE TO NOISE LEVELS 105DB.
3.Regarding the drag strip anything quicker than 11.00 must run over the 1/8 mile but slower can run 1/4 mile.
4. BikeS can only run over the 1/8 because of the surface.
5. DRIFT AREA CANNOT HAVE 3RD GEAR CORNER WITHOUT CONCRETE BARRIERS IN PLACE (tHE COST BEING £2000 + VAT which we cannot justify on a one day event) Drift area is 1400 feet x 130 feet
6. Last action is at 16.00 hrs

We now have FREE TYRE CHANGING FACILITY SORTED
ENTRY FEE ON THE GATE £5.00

If anyone is unhappy and wishes a Full refund please e-mail us with you paypal e-mail address and we will procerss a refund.

We are sorry that we have to take these decisions but unfortunately we have no choice other than cancelling the event.

Thanks
Rob & Sean Gladstone

DRAG RACING HAS BEEN CANCELED

This has been sent out on facebook -
the airfield at smeatharpe is heavily flooded at the drag strip area and due to the amount of rain that has fallen in the past few days the area surrounding the airfield is waterlogged and water is therefoe being held on the runway so we ca...nnot safely run the drag racing. we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The drifting is not affected and indeed we have now doubled the size of the drift area

all rwyb will b refunded
I'll be getting a lift up with a mate and his family now anyway. Battery on the car is flat and its pissing down with rain! I'll be there with the camera though :D

Stood on tip toes, with my arm stretched as high as possible with my wide angle lens on. What you can't see is the bloke who was about to walk into my photo "look, thats wierd that, this m3 is left hand drive" :chuckle:

Do you still have the m50 2door? Did you see the prefacelift m20 doing its thing?

I still have my car. it's sat in a shed not very happy atm.. i raped all the good bits off it for the m3.
I can't decide what motor to put in in it.
I put a s50b32 out of my z3m with no crank to modify the exhaust for the m3 but thats as far as it got.
In 11 years of e30 ownership i've done m10, m40 m42, m20, m50 and s50 pretty well now and i don't want a m30 or s14.
I sold the m50 and it's in a tech 2 sport now.
I've just put a m60 in an iS for rich and it went in pretty easily so if a cheap 540 manual came along i could be tempted.
Either that or a m42 rotrex but i'd have to sell the cab to do that.
I even thought about a 20xe redtop but will put that in the works van instead.
I have to do something as i've been told by girlfriend and friends i'm not allowed to sell it.
I'll just see what happens. winkeye
I really missed it yesterday.

Any hoo. i did see the red 325. good place to advertise it :?
He looked like he was having fun. :D

That's great, so are the ones convinced that E30 M3's are 6 pots.

Gutted I couldn't make this, but with an inch of water (not coolant) in the passengers footwell, no seats fitted, trying to understand heated seat switches that turn one feed from live to earth when switching low to high, I've had my hands full.

How about a rotrex'd m50 or m52? You dont see many of them around at all.

Gutted I couldn't make this, but with an inch of water (not coolant) in the passengers footwell, no seats fitted, trying to understand heated seat switches that turn one feed from live to earth when switching low to high, I've had my hands full.
It was absolutely freezing up there and you couldnt see all the drifting becuase of the poor layout of the course but it was still quite good nevertheless!
