Roughly what power could the 2.5 engine take without having to rework the internals?

unless you are going for forced induction, you will have to alter the internals to crack the 200bhp figure on a N/A engine. There's a few turbo'd beasts and a supercharged beastie on the zone, i don't know if any of them have been on a rolling road yet, but they must be in the 250bhp area and i think they are on standard internals but I may be wrong

the stock M20 when in good condition will normally survivve 15 or so psi before something lets go, some guys in the US are runing a lot more with just uprated head bolts too

Strong engines if you look after them

Broadly speaking, it's less stressful to make more power with forced induction than it is with N/A :)

it's just because I have a friend who can source me lots of cheap parts, one of which being a turbo capable of 600bhp+ winkeye

Obviously nott gonna bolt that straight on but was just wondering how much work would be needed for it

He's in the process of building a 1100rwhp Supra
