Going to put my 316i into a proffesional for a big pre winter service.

Its got a bit of a missfire at highish revs, and its lumpy from cold, im hoping it just needs new plugs/leads etc, so i better get it seen to soonish!

Anyway, I dont grudge spending money on my car, so what would i be aswell getting for the service?

What plugs?
What leads?
What oil? (engine/gearbox and diff)
Any other parts you can reccomend?

Prices and retailers for reccomended items would be magic :D

Thanks again, Coldo :D

i take it dud means dead?

why else would an engine misfire at high revs? iv changed the plugs to brand new ones :?

as for your service dude, not to sure about diff oil, german n swedish or euro car parts will stock it all.

as for the type of oil, err, honestly iv no idea but iv seen some oils especially designed to protect engines that have already got high mileage? thats what i use on mine anyway, it being a friale m42 n all

No, dud doesn't mean dead. I mean outside of new specification.
Many things can cause a misfire at high revs. Most common is distributor cap and rotor arm.

Ive got one!

All my leads read 6.2-6.4K Ohms except number 3, which reads 7.7K Ohms. Its a cost prohibitive thing to replace on a 20 year old 1.8 though.
