Hello fellas, there are a few spots on my beeeemer that the clear laquer is coming off and the paint has a really rough feel to it? Any sugestions about both or why it's done it.

are you sure that the laquer has come off or just not been mopped/cut back after paint in past
if laquer has been removed then bird crap can do this
it is very acidic indeed and will amrk paint badly by etching into surface
could be there has been very aggresive compund used on surface at some time and this has removed the laquer to such an extent that you are down to base coat
pictures would help

I have the same problem, though it's on the pax rear door. About the size of 2x 50p pieces. Rest of the door is fantastic ( well.. for a 16yr old car anyway!)
Is there anyway i can get the lacquer reapplied? or will the whole door have to get resprayed?
