Hi guys n girls.
Well this weekend with any luck I'm going to install my Sony Head Unit and 10 disc changer. It's also got a remote that can be fitted in the steering wheel column.
What I'd like to know is,
1. What are the colours of the wires so I can match them up to the instructions that come with the HU (I've got the ISO connector that fits the HU but not to the loom)...it's a '90 320i E30.
2. Fitting the remote. I'm hopefully going to be able to put some self tappers into the steering column (obviously checking for wiring and steering play)...any useful tips?? Does the shroud just come off easily?
3. Fitting the changer. I seem to get a lot of dampness in the boot, so I fancy putting it in the glovebox. Is the glovebox easy enough to take out (for the wiring) and put back without it going "saggy" like some other BMW's? (especially E36)
Many thanks,
Al

2. No comment, not done it!
3. Glovebox comes out stupidly easily, just unclip the hanger things inside it and it drops! Failing that under the passenger seat should suffice.

Hi Dom
I have a Pioneer front loader that I'm due to fit to my '90 325i. Would the same loom suffice or would I have to get a different one?
Cheers

have a look in the tech articles at the ice section. read that and its in there somewhere
Basically I've got drawers full of the autoleads leads to convert manufacturer radio plugs to ISO. My flatmate is an in-car electrician type dude with his own business to seems to have loads left over.
Supplied with most headunits you'll have a lead to plug into the ISO one and the back of the head unit. Other headunits are just ISO connections anyway so don't need this.
For example
BMW ---> ISO ----> Headunit
It's the BMW ----> ISO leads I have. If an ISO ----> Headunit lead is needed it will come with the unit.
Does that explain things?

Right Front (-) Grey/Brown
Left Front (+) Grey/Red
Left Front (-) Grey/Violet
Right Rear (+) Black/White
Right Rear (-) Black/Brown
Left Rear (+) Black/Red

Exactly what I was after.
