front shocker collars ,are they a bas***d to get out normally or ok???

I made a special tool that locates into the 4 holes on top of the collar and has a 1/2" square drive filed into it. However you could resort to using a big pair of stilsons !

big pair of stilsons... vice and a scaffold pole should do it..

i used a big pair of stilsons and a vice,but don't do the vice up too tight and crush the outer tube, you wil have trouble getting the old shock out.

Okay these guys have some good advice but if i were you i would do what i do!

Get the strut off, then bolt the strut to a spare wheel, lay the outer part of the wheel on the floor, ask someone to stand on the wheel while you get the collar nut off!

This way you dont damage any part of the Strut and you dont risk messing up the caster/camber.

i had one that i couldnt get to budge at all, introduced it to our old friend heat and then it came straight off
