im the proud owner of a lovely granite silver sport :)

picked it up a few weeks back, did a temporary one month insurance cover to get it spick and span ready to tuck away under a cover in the garage over the winter

anyway started work on it two weeks ago, ripped out the interior and the council tweeters, waxoyled all the inner arches and sills before putting it back together properly ensuring the correct bolts and clips were used in the apropriate places

next up was the boot section. fitted my cd changer and again pulled out the carpets to waxoyl here too, surprisingly didnt find any rust here either. (im glad ive foud a solid example after long hard searching :))

the only rust spot ive found on the car is on the rear valance close to the battery tray its just surface rust but will get that sorted asap

next week (sunday) is power wash and underseal day if all goes well, then will get a dent master to do the two car park dents.
that will then see my car asleep over the winter. will put some pics up tomorrow sorry just feeling lazy and cant find my phone cable ATM

on the to do list are:
power wash and underseal (underside)
replace new bulbs (interior)
dents removal
oil service
plugs
fix cold stuttering
and finally a wash and wax :)

Well done for finding a solid one.
Nice colour. Look spot on as is. One of the only E30's that should wear a tech 2 kit IMO.

thanks, i dont want it to start rusting anytime soon, so thought id do the relatively easy and cheap option now rather than some costly bodywork :)

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I spotted that one as looking like a mighty fine example. Wish I had the space and the cash, as it would have been mine! Good buy!

Mine's a bit pov spec though as it has an analogue clock so no OBC and no morsals like air con or heated seats or rear blinds but it has black leather which was on my list of requirements when I was looking 8)

why? if your not going to use it why have it. I am always surprised by how into all these extras people are air con is heavy, wastes fuel and goes wrong a lot all the other extras add weight, complexity and make the e30 less of a drivers car. Other than an obc I wouldn't want any of them. I like e30,s lean and mean and simple.

It's not as if a 6-pot E30 is a lightweight screamer :D

exactly thats why I don't want it any heavier! The addition of extras cand add over 60kg to these cars and that is noticeable.
Each to his own of course. But this love of options always surprises me.

Yeah I suppose I didn't buy mine to throw around the local lanes or to track. I just like to take it out when I fancy blowing the cobwebs away or on a sunny day for a drive. Each to their own of course :D

Cars as mint as that almost deserve not to be raced in some bizarre backwards sort of way.

Whenever people talk about weight reduction it's just about the only time I'm glad I weight 30kg less than most people :)

what he means is that its nice when you have the extra switches rather than the blanks on the dash lol......it fells cool to have a car with all the extras regardless of use 8) i know where he is coming from
i had a motorsport cab this summer gone had almost every extra on the list, it just was a nice thought knowing or telling people 'its got air con and heated leather seats'

Car looks stunning mate, don't change a thing cosmetically.

Might be worth spending a day removing the side skirts and pods and checking every inch behind them for rust before coating some waxoil in there too. Give the rear arches a propper good clean and also remove the front plastic arch liners and repeat the same procedure. Protect ALL vulnerable areas and keep your car rust free.

Enjoy sport ownership. :)

sorrry pics arent that good but the fone was all i had at the time
btw that battery reay also came right out so i could get the waxy down there too.
ooh and a tip if your waxoyling in the cold weather....use a fan operated room heater or a hairdryer to warm the waxoyl can and gently use it to also warm the panel up too this will allow the waxoyl to become runny and get into those awkward places

progress on the car has been really slow today...
i started by taking the wheels off and taking off the undershields/inner arch liners
power washed the inner arches properly then used a brush to get rid of the mud/muck that i couldnt get out....then finally used hot bucket of car wash and sponge to wash them out again (they were squeeky clean....literally lol)
at the same time i washed the BBS wheels inside out too
once this was done i thought id get started on what looked like 'surface' rust on the rear valance...i gently scrubbed at it with a screw driver till i.....yeah u guessed it till i put a hole through it..so i kept going and even used a hammer to gently tap out the crustyness
once all off i grinded back to bare metal and out came the MIG welder
once plated up, grinded, rust prevented, filled, primered, seam sealerd then waxoyled the inside again i was happy to pack up and call it a day... my insurance will be out friday, i think im gonna do one or two bits and pieces to it before i tuck it away for the winter
i dont think ill have enough time to do the undersealing properly so ill leave that till the summer maybe? it will probably stick a little better in the warmer weather?
im not too fussed with that really as the garage at home is heated the only reason i dont want to work on it at home garage is that we have 3 cars in the garage so it can be quite tight working on a car lol
heres a few pics for you to enjoy :D
pic order is back to front :(
