mines currently a 316, can i simply convert my current tank for injection or do i have to change the tank?

was planning on dropping my tank out and changing in for a injection one but few ppl have said they are the same..... anyone help on this matter?

Tanks are the same. Fit a two pipe high pressure in tank pump from a 316i or 318i saloon, and you will be good to go.
Keep the tank; change the brakes.
Later 316's had the fuel pump wiring up as far as the socket on the RH side of the seat pan.

If yours is a carb engine then unless the tank has been changed its likey to have no bowl for an in tank pump, you would have to use an external pump and some sort of reliable fuel collector

316 and 316i/318i tank have exactly the same part number, although I realise this doesn't necessarily mean they had when the car was new.
The one 316 fuel tank I have (from a facelift car) has exactly the same collector in it as any other 55 litre tank, and I expect this applies to most 316's still around.

It will if they are like most E30's and have had their tanks changed to a silver GSF crap tank.

The simple answer is to take your existing fuel pick up out and have a look. Five minute job to check through the inspection panel under the rear seat.
