Hi all,
Is it good to have mud flaps on (316 auto) and is Ԛ£14 a pair ok?

Depends on personal preference.

They hold mud and grime and lead to rusing if not regularly cleaned out thoroughly.

I'd personally never ever put a set on a car.

i agree with adam. having owned a lot of classic (rusty!!!) cars, i've seen a lot of evidence of rust caused by mudflaps. not just the mud trap but the fact they usually wind a screw straight onto the paint and go straight though it. this is about the only thing that makes a late pug 205 rusty and they're galvanised!

point taken about the rust lads but if well kept up to they should be ok?
how about the price?

Price doesn't sound too bad but I would urge not to bother.

You'd definately need to keep them very well cleaned out around the brackets. The metal brackets often rub on the arches wearing paint away and causing rust.

I can't really think of any benefits of mud guards.

should of seen the mess that they made of my volvo LOL wow!

i wouldnt fit them either they dont really catch any mud anyways

Mudfaps are just something else to clean when you wash the car. Had a few cars with them on but never found out what they were supposed to keep mud off. Yet to wash a car with a clean spot on it.
