as above anyone know how to check what was on a car when sold new from the reg no???

you could get in touch with Sytner mate
give them the vin number and they should be able to print a build sheet off for you

Yeah, I just gave my reg number to BMW and they printed the spec sheet off there and then. Not sure if it gave the diff ratio though, just the fact it was an LSD.

Daz, if it's a sport (which the above check confirms) it will have an LSD, unless a previous one has gone bang, and a cheapskate PO has replaced it with an open diff, if so then the above checks wouldn't mean a thing anyway!!

Looks like from your other post you've found it's an LSD anyways!
