Just wondering if anyone in Leicester could do a cambelt change on a M20b20,if so, how much?

I may just be doing it myself anyway as the car is off the road and I need to learn at some point, but just wondering if anyone was capable just incase I dont get round to it.

Go for it mate. Where abouts is it? Like I said, I will probably do it myself, just always good to have the option of someone local.

Thats not a bad idea at all. :D

And if I remember rightly, you love to travel? winkeye

Got about 15 things I want to be doing on her over the next few months before I get round to the cam belt change anyway so depending on how brave I am at the time, I may be contacting you. :D

@ paolobianchi ---

Cheers fella, but its a little too far, ideally I would need someone to travel to me to be honest so the amount it would cost to pay someone from huddersfield to come, Well, I may aswell just do it myself. :D

But thats for letting me know mate!

Jim,

I can't advise on someone to do it for you (other than town325) but I have just had the cambelt done on my 316i turd, and it cost me £145 with parts, to get the cambelt done along with the tensioner, two pulley's & replacement coolant. Baring in mind this was an M40 engine, so an M20 will be different, but it's a guideline to say the least.

I would say have a go at it yourself, but tbh I couldn't be bothered, so payed a mechanic who even came and collected the car, to do the job.

Town is a top man, he came and swapped my cylinder head a couple of weeks back. He could probably do a cambelt blindfold.

Newbies? :? Thanks. lol

@ everyone else -

Ta for all the responses! Think I'm gonna give it a shot myself when I get round to it. Its off the road for 6 months so in no rush. I think with the haynes manual and the zone, if I get stuck, I should be ok to sort it. I might be jumping in a bit further too, thinking about rebuilding the engine and just making it spanking new...

Know nothing about it but as I say, the zone and haynes manuals will surely help me.

@ town - what price would I be looking at for you to come over to Leicester and do it, rough guess is all im after, with parts included,or I can pick them up, but would need to knwo what would be needed etc.

I would bring it over to you, but its not tax or insured now so will struggle.

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Wrong side from me to do fella, should be a reliable zoner over your side of the village or I would also recommend Mark Town325i.
