The point of the Wiki as originally conceived was
likely due to the ability for users to edit their own topics. It also had/has a powerful search facility. Lastly it has to a certain extent been a means for people not registered to the E30Zone to search Google and come up with an answer the need. A spin off is that they then join the zone for further info.
Now, let's confront a couple of things head on.
AFAIK there is only one person who can actually do anything on the Wiki, which of course isn't good practise. I have had a look around and using some of my own servers having a look at protection, which can be either
No Protection,
Registered Users Only &
SysOps I.e. the chiefs only.
My question to you is How Do You Make Your Articles? Do you Log In to the Wiki or do you just write something and hit save?
The future of the Wiki?
The admin team are still discussing the best step forward but my stance would be that IF we change then it should reflect the realoem database as that is a common medium we use.
For now...
I'm 100% aware of how the wiki system works from a database level (haven't bothered to check yet) but a post will go up today asking anyone to look for their wiki article - or one they particularly like, post it up and it will be fixed. It's probably better to do that at least to start with.
How's that sound?
