Have a good ganders thru the hole M50/M52 section and you should find all the info you need.
There is no right and wrong way of doing these swaps as such, there are so many different combo`s that can be used.
Happy hunting.

cheers for that list phil. I was after the same info. I've already got the m20 clutch and flywheel. Just need the 318i gearbox and prop.
Did the engine fit ok into the engine bay with the e36 engine mounts and was the gear shift linkage ok?

As I've posted before, apart from items 2 and 3, there isn't one part on that list that I used in my first M50 E30!bimanut wrote: There is no right and wrong way of doing these swaps as such, there are so many different combo`s that can be used.

Cheers Phil,
I live 5 mins from Junction 6 on the M25 just on the Surry/Kent border. Thanks for the invite, It would be great to see how your car looks. I'm working away for a couple more weeks but could pop over november some time.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but I have a quick question about props.
In this thread it says a G240 (m40) gearbox and 318i prop can be used with an m50. I was under the impression this would be too long and that a 320i prop would be best and that a 325i e30 prop would be too short.
are all e30 props compatible with a g240 swap or am I going to run into trouble with propshaft lengths?
