All M power engines will run on 95 ron but they are designed to run on 98 ron.

Standard M54B30 from an E46 like a drop of the good stuff too, you do get noticeably more economy from one, about 30-40 miles on a motorway run from a full tank. The arse dyno would suggest a bit more zip too, but I haven't had my butt calibrated....
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap :)
