Beep when temp drops!?

I was driving along tonight and i heard a beep as if somebody is about to call my flight in an airport. It sounded like it was coming out the door pillar behind my head it happened two or three times and every time the beep sounded the outside temp flashed up on the dash as 3 degrees (about correct)

what is this for!?

It's a serious warning meaning, do not put your foot down too hard or you WILL end up sideways or worse in a bush!!

well i never! this is my 3rd e30 and the first time ive ever heard it! where is the sound coming from?

The "gong" is comming from under the dash, if you look down by the foot pedals, you'll see a speaker on the cover, it is telling you "It's Cold"

the speaker thing in the panel above your legs, your other e30s have either not had the 6 / 13 button obc, or if they have theyve had a broken temp sensor, or had the gong disconnected.

mine does`nt bong any more since i changed it to bong when i open the door and have left the lights on ,seen as i kept leaving them on but the the obc still flashes the temp up anyway when it gets low, just like yesterday morning when it was -2 wtf its october.
