ahh not to bad then. A5 dual carriageway, 3am i got mine to 125, felt like it had more to go but heard a bang, then she heated up fast, pulled over and saw that the fan decided to go through the radiator some how othersise i could have found out myself what the top end was, and i'll have a look for that, sounds interesting.

That official figures? I've had my iS to 130, surely the extra .7L does something?

Oh and it wasn't quite maxed out

According to my Owners Handbook, BMW say it's 134 for a manual convertible and 130 for an auto
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Those are the figures for cars lumbered with emissions equipment.

Well that's the catch 22. Speedo read 135.

Need to get it on the dyno and get the real readout!

325i sport manual with a 3.91 ratio diff.

Only mod to the engine is a BTB2 six branch manifold.

It has pulled an indicated 150mph before.

to drive an E30 cab at anywhere near top speed is daft IMO. Even on a track.

big sail on the back to catch the wind and lots of front end lift, any old car at that speed i would have assumed any accident, you die.

Snap, my 3.91 diff bothers me a bit as the car is a bit buzzy with it, but I rarely do any motorway stuff with it and how often do you travel at 100+ for any sustained period. For me it's about how quickly you get there :)

What size wheels and tyres did you have?

E30 speedos with the correct rolling circumfrence tyres should read about 10% over.

Was going to do a thread tonight to say iv just had 143mph out of my nearly standard tech1(ss exhaust and secret ecu upgrade) satnav and clocks matched up perfect gota be a first in an e30 :D

Just had a mini service filters/oil/water etc and plenty of v power pumped threw it, it sat at 5850rpm so theres plenty of potential for more, the aroedynamics are a big limiting factor in the top speed of an e30 they seem to hit a bit of a brick wall around 135mph from my experience.
