Weekend clean up

Had the car a good 6 months now and never got around to cleaning it

I feel that as I have a weekend off (missus is away ) I'll spend it with the bit on the side..

Never really bothered cleaning a car properly so not sure what to do to get it looking sparkling...

Any recommendations for a standard clean (products, methods etc.) that can be picked up and carried out in an afternoon?

asda you get carplan stuff cheap as chips about a third of halfrauds price, i find it very good for the price, the spray can interior valet works excellent

hoover the car right out, then use that stuff, a light hoover after , then clean inside windows , clean the dash and vinyl etc

i perosnly keep my car clean and tidy inside all the time, a quick clean and hoover once a week keeps it nice, and feels much nicer to be inside

Was referring mainly to the outside but will get the inside done as soon as it's not looking like this:

Get the car clean first with a bit of bargain basement car shampoo. Dry it with a chamois if you're feeling posh, then a coat of decent polish. I use Autoglym everything on the basis that if it's good enough for Rolls-Royce, it's good enough for me. What will really make a big difference is getting all the black nice and black again, and the chrome nice and shiny. Autoglym bumper care is amazing for the blacks, and, ahem, Brasso ain't bad for the chrome! A lot of people swear by respraying faded black bits with satin black too...

Only problem is, as you get each bit done, the other bits look worse, so you end up going at the paint again with more polish and wax, then redoing all the black, and so on....
