Nooooo!!
Get a BM one (not as expensive as you'd think), or something else by a reputable company or you'll be angry come winter!

my local motor factors do identical batteries to the halfords ones (even down to the same serial numbers on the plastic moulds) for 1/3 the price. at Ԛ£22 or thereabouts for a new battery, i'm not complaining!

Not sure if you have bought one yet but this little beauty is one of the highest rated batteries on the market with very little drain,

Not cheap, but your car will start!

I plan to get one before winter truly settles in.

My wife's touring has had a Halfords battery on it for about five years and it's still going strong, although since my well documented holiday problems recently, it's actually still powering the caravan.
It didn't get in the car by choice though. I had been dragged off Christmas shopping one Saturday in a town about 60 miles away, and we had been parked up all day in a multi storey, unfortunately with the lights on.
Came back to the car at about 5pm, and found it dead.
Tried to run start it down a couple of the ramps, but no go.
Only thing I could do was get myself off quickly to a Halfords 300 yards up the street, which was closing in about 15 minutes.
Fortunately, they had the correct one, (but I would have bought any one at the time), so I bought it, lugged it back to the car park, fitted it, and we were on our way.
