right bit of an update m20b25 is now in but just got a few things to connect up. i sourced a 2.5 rad and went to fit it and was no good but the original iS rad fits perfect and connects fine so is this suitable and ok to use? also the bracket on top of the engine is missing for the throttle cable so have to find one of them and 2.5 exhaust system. pics to follow soon. 8)

Some updated pics now, engine in just needs few niggly things sorting, like battery charging, m20 mounts as its sat on m42 ones for time being. Also need to source an exhaust system standard or stainless.
Then my attention will move to the interior for either crimson or black leather 8)

Looking good, I remember the previous owner trying to sell this on the forum, wanted a grand for it IIRC?

Why didn't you M50 it mate?
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

yeah it was me trying to sell it to get a ready made 325 but i find out how easy it was to swap the m42 to m20 so i kept it. i didnt really know whats involved in an m50 swap? and i had this engine for free in exchange for my m42.

bit of an update vaders fitted
Image

only big task is having the brackets made for the vaders but if you wanted to you could just drill the new holes in place but as i didnt want any more holes i had some brackets fabricated. This then allowed me to fix the vaders to brackets then brackets to original e30 mounting points.
The rear seat comes in 5 parts - 2 outer bolsters, 2 centre pieces then the base. The base fitted more or less perfect (just positioning), then i fixed all four rear pieces together to stop the individual movement. Then bolted them to the back. I just need to decide wether to keep the original e36 seatbelts (centre of seat) or the e30 ones. I can ditch the e30 ones then use the e30 stalks on the outer bolt holes for the e36 belts.
Next task is the parcel shelf as the rear seat sits slightly proud if you look through rear window, not a major issue just have to raise the shelf somehow. winkeye

Another update: went to work this morning only to decide the battery was going to die in 9 o'clock traffic..... So with a tailback behind me about a mile long on a very busy town A road I decided to try and push the e30 onto the path whilst my dad brought the booster pack to me. But this didn't work as trying to steer and push an e30 up a Kirb with only 1 man power i was reluctant to damaging the alloy I sat it out very embarrassingly. Anyhow with a booster pack wedged under the bonnet I drove it to my dads garage where now it sits with a tightened alternator belt and fresh battery! :o:

Next job is the seal on the gearbox leaking and to get the prop ballanced.
