So again the trusty Touring was kitted out with all the racy stuff (LSD, coilovers, buckets), plus a set of Colway F2 rally slicks, and at the unholy hour of 0330 I buckled my brother into the passenger seat and pointed us NNW.
3 1/2 hours later we parked up in the pits, yawned, stretched and walked about to relieve aching posteriors. Cobra Monacos are not suitable for distance driving and the pillow on the seat had stopped working around Coventry
Later on, with suspension dropped, dampers tweaked and slicks fitted, the fun began....
A damn good day, stayed dry, had fun, didn't break anything, drove home afterward.
And the profit?
Outward and return journeys pretty much identical; same car, same fuel load, same speed.
Outbound I saw 25 mpg @ 75 mph.
Return? 34!
The phrase "blowing the cobwebs away" comes to mind.
