Put some vaders in the front of my council e30 and am now wondering wether I should have bought the rears also. Anybody know if they fit? I know it won't be an exact match but if there's some hope I,ll get them. Answers please! I used the search function but all I got was about front seats. Cheers in advance.

Anything can be made to fit anything with enough skills and effort, but for practical purposes, not a hope!

I to have seen said car.
Think there were pics up on here but can't remember the thread.
They looked really wrong IMO but you already have the fronts in so your obviouslly not worried about that.
I think they went straight in but don't hold me to it

You'll have to modify the side bolsters to make it look right - reshape the foam etc then get those bits re-trimmed. I don;t know if they're separate.
I don't know if I'm breaking any laws by aiding a known offender or perhaps even perverting the course of justice but whatever - newer friendlier Zone and all that...

^^ Your own law's have been re written of late. I have seen positive comments on engine conversions, now your helping/advising on 46 interior swaps.
Your one step away from some alpina reps and an M30 conversion.

I'm only considering engine swaps these days because of tired of all the wheel spinning in my iS.

Yes the side bolsters are separate this is what I was thinking could get them re shaped to fit. And yes my car is well and truly council messed iS with alpina reps, eyebrows, 2.5 engine and tech2 kit. That's how i like them.
cheers for the help.

well they are in........ and fitted with no problems with the plates i had made for the front seats. Back seats are fixed together as they are 4 seperate pieces. They do sit slightly proud of the rear parcel shelf but i will alter the shelf to suit and fit the headrests in. The base does not sit further forward than original e30 base so therefore no legroom is lost.
Some people will say its council and doesnt suit the e30
but personally i like them

cheers not really, only big task is having the brackets made for the vaders but if you wanted you could just drill the new holes in place but as i didnt want any more holes i had some brackets fabricated. This then allowed me to fix the vaders to brackets then brackets to original e30 mounting points.
The rear seat comes in 5 parts - 2 outer bolsters, 2 centre pieces then the base. The base fitted more or less perfect (just positioning), then i fixed all four rear pieces together to stop the individual movement. Then bolted them to the back. I just need to decide wether to keep the original e36 seatbelts (centre of seat) or the e30 ones. I can ditch the e30 ones then use the e30 stalks on the outer bolt holes for the e36 belts.
Next task is the parcel shelf as the rear seat sits slightly proud if you look through rear window, not a major issue just have to raise the shelf somehow. cheers for the comments.

well done, that looks good, im impressed that they look like they are meant to be there!
i notice the rear cards are still out - do they fit ok with them in?
not something i would do, but im impressed with your result nice one!

I don't like none E30 interiors in E30's but at least it looks to 'fit' properly. The front seats always look too new and too big, but that does at least look like some thought has gone in to the install.
As you say it's how you like them and it's your car. I say good effort.

Cheers mate, yeah I wasn't keen on non e30 interiors but I really like the vaders after owning an e36 m3 so I just had to have them again. If I didn't think they suited it I certainly wouldn't have fitted them plus they,re not that bigger when placed next to the original sport seats just a wider subframe.Dezzy wrote:I don't like none E30 interiors in E30's but at least it looks to 'fit' properly.
