That's a tad harsh Ratch :o

I always found the sound the m30 made was much more agressive than the m50's , but I guess that could be down to the cat and exhuast systems.

If the engine of a car came from one that had to have a CAT by law and you fit it on an older shell , do you have to keep the CAT in place?

I beg to differ about the m30 comment , because I for one think a Alpina B6 or B6S is a cool way to use the m30.
You can beg all you want, you wont change my opinion :D

I thought the way alpina used an m30 was a great way to make a car understeer across a corner, but then they did have to settle for something less than an M50/M52 based donk as they weren't about back then

Cook cams are sorted. They are on a boat from the us as we speak.

Goosie
The car is finished really just needs a donk and a clean. 3-4 weeks maybe. Alot depends on how busy Dan is with other stuff.

To be honest the spam is getting on my tits now but the thread will get cleaned at some point. :D

I too can't wait for The results of my 8 bag spend but at least it will be a better donk now with our changes. winkeye

Dezz what shifter linkage did you use with the dirty 6 box ? mine sits too far forward when in first gear and catches the console ? :(

does yours sit in the middle of the hole ?

Thats a good price imo. Its about £200ish from the USA, then you've got the p+p, import tax and the worry about how it will survive the journey from over the pond!

I would check the shifter is the right way around Steve. If you know what I mean.

If not, I believe the M50 325 selector rod & alloy cradle are what is needed when using the 24v boxes

Iirc if the leaver is the wrong way round it is right at the back of the hole. I reckon it would catch going into 4th if it was wrong.

Z3 leaver should sort it Steve. Mine isn't perfectly central but close enough. :D

My battery tray is tatty (solid no rust just scanky) is it a massive no no to paint the tray with a satin black hammerite paint to match the M3 battery cover?

My Jimmy Hill is in my mates bodyshop getting a proper job done on it so it won't chip.

I've just thought... Dez, your engine is slowly morphing into a S52 isn't it?
I'm not sure on the differences but they appear to be very similar :)

bays looking good. As for the tray, I'd prep it, cure rust it and then blow it in with grey antichip to level it out. Then go over with Alpine.

Good to see you are sticking with this. Hats off to you. I'd have probably torched it by now!
