small update
& some more shameless picture whoring
as i like thing's to be clean
i was getting fed up of how the front plastic grill set was looking more grey than black
so i spray painted my spare set of grill's i had in gloss black & i painted and refitted the eye brows to

i also managed to get a few part's i'd been after that were either broken or missing ie: O/S shadow line gutter trim, interior light/door pin switch, a couple of engine compatment plastic's, air intake pipe & the all important "i-S" boot badge (not to sure if i'll ever fit it though??)
pics of the tweeters fitted (way back in June
)

i also set about getting the "A" pillers as spotless as i could

couple more shameless pics

ive lost count off the amount of "are you selling the car mate" & the ££££ offers ive had for my iS

finally got round to a wee job yesterday that i'd been meaning to do for a while
my car came with a fairly decent looking momo s/wheel but tbh i'd say it was fitted a few thousand miles ago and it's starting to show it's age, in truth it was looking far more worn than the rest of the 20yr old interior
momo wheel

once i removed the momo wheel i then had to drill new holes to the momo boss for my replacement "Personal" wheel, i also threaded the new holes so i could still fit the wheel to the boss as normal
Personal wheel in place
it has a nice carbon effect centre to it

i got the s/wheel from an Audi last year as i was going to fit it to my Golf VR6 but i never ever got round to getting a boss to fit it, it's slightly chunkier but is the same diameter as the removed momo

interesting, love the red and the condition and the cleaning- im a fan of cleaning and making your car look as best as it can !! although im not keen on eyebrows, how has the painted black grill holded up ?
have to admit...im not too keen on the rear lights/tech 1 skirts/fully colorcoded bumper look, looks a bit sort of "tech 2/modified" , think it look much nicer with black on the bumpers but thats just my view
what did you do on the inside of the pillars between door/car to get that clean and nice ? and on the top of the engine ?
keep up the good work
tip for ya.... see the pic of the door pillar/shut there, and the kick panels hanging down on the right side...take it down and reach in and bend the bracket up a bit that holds it at the back/right , and it will once again sit perfectly up top

Hi pal, your car is looking pretty fresh.
Just my opinion but I think the red needs to be broken up by something? A black stip?
Can you tell me the make of your exhaust? As I have a 318is with a tech 2 kit and i neet to fill up the twin exit hole! Haha also do you have any videos of how loud it is and some close up pics?

thanks for the comments guy's
the good thing with what has be modified from standard on my car is it can all be changed back to standard very easily & quickly, ive been going to change the strips back to the standard black item's a few times but when i take a step back and look at it i think it looks more up to date being colour coded, not to mention looking a bit slightly different from the rest, same for the rear light's but i also have a standard set just incase i feel like a change
Tech 1 skirts are staying i think they add just enough extra shape to the E30 boxy look as well as making the car look that little bit lower
my wife recons they help compliment the size of the alloys as she thinks some E30's with 17" wheels look slighly dwarfed by the size of there wheels.
the exhaust is a custom built S/S item .. it's not too noisy but it does add a little grunt to the car's sound, sorry no video or sound recorded yet but i may do that this week

thread revival! i do like your car alot, my HID's are also a bit tempremental when turning them on and i wired them up correctly and mounted the ballasts securely etc! Once theyre on theyre fine though. I would love some tech1 skirts, how have yours been fitted, bonded or clips/screws?

for cleaning the pillars i first sprayed all the metal/paint work with Comma hyper clean and rubbed it in with a brush, next i started to buff it all with liquid compound then i polished the area, then finished them of with some Auto Smart quick detailerpolsta wrote:

the air in take i cleaned that up by using a soft copper wire brush & the rocker cover was removed so i could use a copper wire brush attached to a drill, looking at buying a proper polishing set so next spring i can get the cover to a near mirror finish
this is a pic of the condition before i cleaned the rocker cover

mine are bonded on, when i first got the iS the skirts were held on with very strong double sided tape ... but i didn't feel to confident about them staying on, so i removed them and bonded them using tiger seal. they have the proper fstner/clips for the bottom edge for attaching to the cill, only holes that have been drilled are on the wheel arch lip's to hold the end's snug to the carKemix wrote:thread revival! i do like your car alot, my HID's are also a bit tempremental when turning them on and i wired them up correctly and mounted the ballasts securely etc! dont blame you, i wouldnt trust that foam tape stuff, only for number plates! I cant find a set of se or tech1 skirts anywhere in brilliant red. I am sick of naked sills
if you were to replace the side strips back to black you would have to do the bumpers aswel IMO.

Cool, how easy is it to get the rings off? Do you have to dismantle the light?

no mate the ring's just pull off, they have one locating slot and 2 or 3 small holding clasps, when refitting them you place the locating slot in first then just press the ring's back on.
