Having just had two beautiful new (OEM BMW) wings fitted and a general tidy up of surface rust here and there, I'm wondering whether not to refit the front mudflaps?

One the one hand they are original, on the other hand I think they contributed to me needing new wings (they'd only really gone in the areas near the mudflaps). Also, in summer they may be useful for keeping tar off the flanks.

Any thoughts?

I've had both, I'd say you're better off without them.

i like the look of them tbh, depends what car and color of course, but there shouldnt be a problem as long as you take them off regularly and keep it clean underneath

i have a brand new un used set with all new fittings to go on mine this winter ,car looks better with them on imo

as you have brand new wings etc, maybe it be better to get a new set, around £50 a pair from bmw

If you live in the city and the roads are clean then you could probably do without them. If you drive on country roads the mud and gravel sprays all down the side of the car.

Another thing I have found is on an iS with flaps fitted they can hit the ground in fast corners, I pulled one out of its fixing at Castle Coombe.
