If you polish ur E30 twice a week you'll have no paint left soon your not supposed to polish cars to often.

In the summer i "WASH" mine at least once a week this time of year prehaps only once/twice a month as it gets shit up again to quickly for me to bother giving it a proper seeing to

Wash the E30 maybe a couple of times a month during the summer when its being used but not at all when its garaged over the winter - just gets put away clean.
Polished maybe a couple of times a Year.

Twice yearly if it's lucky... I'd rather my zinnobar pink car be dirty than varying shades of red (dirt hides it quite well)

I use collinite wax and i was very very happy with the results. I bought this kit so i got the UV protection with it too (always a good thing for a red car!)

wash mine once a week, or just when it needs a clean really, i work eves/nights so it kills time in the arvos

i wash with tripple wax stuff, then i use demon shine, which is cheap as chips in asda £2 for couple of litres (£6.99 for a spray gun full in halfrauds) i stocked right up, its easyu to use fantastic stuff for a shine

i waxed it last week with simoniz canuba wax £7.99 form halfrauds, came up lovely, 1st time ive ever waxed it, il look in to more expensive products in the spring

what does claying do exactly ? £25-30 for a clay kit, is it worth it ?

I know Claying removes all the crap on the paint. Makes the paint glass smooth. Get Bilt-Hamber auto clay. You can use water spray as a lubricant.

Stuff like T cut and G3 is what takes layers of your paint away bloody autoglym wont do such a thing as it has no abrasive materials in it! Pac i thought you was a valater. No wonder you didnt last long.

Autoglym SRP is a polish and does contain abrasive materials. Just very light ones. SRP is a combined product and it contains not just a polish but cleaner and 'wax' as well.

As it a light abrasive polish then perhaps saying that it should only be used a couple times a year was a bit much but I wouldn't want to use it fortnightly on my car. Especially as there isn't any need to, so its just a waste.

If you want to keep the shine and protect your paint after washing I've been using Autoglym AquaWax. Which isn't bad at all. Its not the best out there I would imagine, but it works on my car quite well. And it has the advantage that you spray it on wet and use the cloth to wipe off and dry. :)

wash it down with a bucked and decent sponge with some betterware wash'n'wax & warm ish water.. rinse off with cold & apply lidl's own brand w5 carnuba wax as per its insctructions & it's good for a while. The key is waxing, it repels dirt schimples

I don't use carnuba on the wheels, just the wash'n'wax but they get cleaned about 3 times a week

If you use it twice a week for 5 years i very much doubt you would go through your paint any where. I mopped my car 6 times since ive had it with G3 and that still hasnt got no signs going through the top coat!

No one had mentioned auto glym before I made my post matey, think you need to check posts before you type.

Lots of polishes do contain abrasives, so I was just giving general advice.

You like trying to wind me up don’t you? Well it don’t work just makes me think you’re a numpty and makes you look silly.

Anyways moving on............

Town, Pac c'mon. stop it. I've deleted your last two posts (one each) so you can chill.

Anyway, has anyone tried Zaino AI10? It's meant to be an all in one for daily drivers.. sounds good to someone with a white E30 who lives on muddy roads....

This is a fair comment but its not as extream as some people keep making out on here the way they go one its like they are rubbing 80 grit flatting paper over there car every weekend.
