Make sure you buy one thats just had a service. 2x Air fliters, 12x Spark plugs etc etc

i would go for the 750i over the LI

would be a fun old chariot, did they do one with the m60 V8? i would rather that over a 735i m30 donk probably similar fuel consumption

it's amazing how cheap they are, if i end up with a 750i just hope nothing falls off !

740i makes more sense. Just a quick apparently, but there is something special about 12 cyl.

I hate to say it, but if you want a good comfortable winter smoker, get a Merc.

If we get snow like we did last winter, the last thing you'll need is an e32 750i!!! It'll be like a whale on a bar of soap!!

There is something about them though, the fact that they are truly a thow away car as they are SOOOOOOO cheap. Buy one, if it goes wrong, frag the f*cker. If it doesn't, waft around in comfort that befits a 60k car with a smug grin.

Spot on. Just as quick and far better economy with a much nicer autobox. Even the V8 730i's are fairly brisk and can get over 30mpg on a steady run.

The V12 is a big, lazy old thing. 12 plugs, 2 ECUs, 2 rotar arms etc, etc and mixed driving economy in the teens? No thanks!

Yeah, your right it makes no sense really.

I think you buy the V12 with your heart.

Look at this engine.

I know one was squeezed into a compact a few years back.

Not sure it's the ideal engine for a transplant as it's so lazy but still maintain, a V12 is a pretty nice thing to be abe to boast about down the pub.

A set of winter tyres and LSD would sort that.
