325i drainage beneath battery tray in boot - need help!

Hi there, underneath my battery tray I have a small clear plastic box with a black tube attached. This tube currently goes nowhere and I wondered where it should be affixed to! The plastic box then connects to the drain hole in the floor of the boot.Thanks.

If Im thinking of the right thing I would say that it should connect to the battery. Not sure what it does but my guess would be an overflow or breather pipe.

Hydrogen vent tube for the battery. Should plug into the side of the battery right at the top, if you have the correct battery of course.
Managed to detonate accumulated hydrogen inside a car (not a BMW) once. Didn't do it again!, and just as well a door was open.

Yep, cheers guys - I guess this drain hose is redundant unless you have a 'wet' battery. Just fretted and thought it should be plugged somewhere!

Are you talking about the sunroof drain pipe? You'll find one on the other side too. The pipe should sit in the tray and any water then flows out under the wing. I don't seem to have anything attached to my battery!

Eh? Front sunroof drains go down into the front cills, and water exits by the slots under the cills. Rear sunroof drains go into the one way air vents either sise of the boot and are hidden from the outside by the bumper.
The pipe we are talking about is smaller than screenwasher hose, and exits the car through a rubber grommet in the bottom of the rear battery tray.
Fitted one two weeks ago into a Touring I am working on. Battery has to move to the boot, as I want the space at the front for some LPG bits.
