I have got a little few patches of rust starting here and there on my Bronzebeige 316i, I want to sand it down treat it and give it a lick of paint, there are a few patches like the bottom of the front arches, bottom of one door and a few bubbles on the rear arches... What would I do about getting a matching paint? I have a touch-up kit, but I'm assuming that probably wont be enough?

I'm not looking for a professional restoration or anything, just a quick DIY job really to slow down the little rust patches and make it less noticable!

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Not sure if you can still get this in a rattle can from BMW of not, but defo worth the first call.

If not, halfords can make up rattle cans

What do you mean mix it? Do I have to give them a colour code or something? Or will they know when I saw BMW e30 Bronzebeige?

Thanks for the replies :)

On the pillar in your engine, there is the exact paint name and code underneath it, just jot all that down and take it in with you... Usually they are absolutely useless so make sure they mix up a tester one first to show you the colour......

Local motor factors will mix you up a rattle can from the paint code. Should be cheaper than Halfords, and will be mixed by someone who actually knows what he's doing.

It is still available from BMW (or was last year when I bought some) but after 23 years of weathering was a completely different colour to my car. It came with paint and topcoat, I bought a touch up set as well and paid about £30.

After I used it all up, I thought sod waiting around for more to come in to the stealers so went to my local Halfords where a mate of mine was working at the time, he mixed me up a batch, and by some small miracle, it was a near perfect match!!!! I have a Halfords trade card too and with discount only paid about £8. I bet if I went back and got some more from halfords it would be slightly different again though :o Their method of mixing and bottling it seems a little bit too random for my liking

Paintcode is 139/1 for bronzitbeige mettallic by the way
