Well my new 320i is looking rather more rusty than first thought so i'm thinking to break it and have a couple of questions!

first - to remove the OBC i take out the computer itself, control unit, gong, dash loom and yellow temp sender from behind foglight. anything else? temp sender wiring? relays/fuses?

second - apart from foglight units and the 2 button switch is anything else needed to fit to a non-foglight facelift E30? relay/fuses/wiring?

Third - it has lec sunroof which is a good thing as my own sunroof handle just snapped :x what do i remove? motor unit obviously, any wiring/relay?

i'm asking because my base spec 316 only has one less relay than this car, which has both lec sunroof and fogs...

thanks all.

Think everything's been mentioned with the OBC, if you want the code function, don't forget the horn too.

Fogs will fit all facelift cars, as long as you remember the brackets.

As for the leccy sunroof, you'll need the motor, the black backing plate it sits on, the wiring loom down to near the junction box, and the roof panel trim, some guys when converting sunroofs to electric remove the enitre mechanism including the copper pipes, but there is no need to remove them.

Got to disagree with Simon on the sunroof. Take the whole mechanism out complete with the copper tubes. All comes out easily enough if you wind the inner cables to open the roof, but move the whole mechanism away instead.
Although there are apparently mounting holes on the gold coloured backplate for the motor (riveted to the black plate), for some reason they don't quite line up with the motor mounting bosses. Also there is a threaded spacer missing from the left hand motor mount
All this can be bodged around, but it's easier to change over the whole lot.

Hehe, I knew you'd say that, when I converted mine, I did it the way you advised firstly, by just changing the motor and plate, what a total nightmare, but I did it in the end! 8)

The first couple I did, I just changed the motor and plate. That's when I discovered the little hidden problems, and why I change the whole lot now!
