My Mrs says, "why are you getting another one of those old Bimmers? They look like Trabants."

I don't think she meant it as a compliment :D

a couple of weeks after buying mine, another one turned up in the estate, same colour but a cab. i finally met the guy who told me that after seeing mine, he wanted one for himself so went out and bought one.....made me well proud!

i got a "holy sh1t" from my cousin after touching the bonnet following a clay, polish and wax (but he's family so i guess that doesn't count), still made me smile though...

a few "dont see any like that anymore" from the local bmw specialist, tyre shop & mot place, although when i went to the main dealers and the guy came out to check a part fitment, they didn't say anything! and the car was looking sweet......i actually got quite upset! hahaha!!!

When I took mine out for the first time three weeks ago to get it MOT'd, had to stop for petrol on the way. As I was getting out the car, a guy walked over and said 'hi, just coming over to admire your BMW'. He was in absolute awe...I had only been out of the house 5 minutes, and this was my first outing ever in my cab. Felt so proud!

10 mins later, arrived at the MOT place, and the 3 guys there were just drooling over it. When I told them I had sprayed the whole car myself, they looked at me in disbelief and said it was better than most pro jobs! What a buzzy day that was 8)

sunday night, i go out for a drive about 11pm for an hour, drove up the hill and that, nice to have a little night tme cruise on your own sometimes...i drove past the fuzz, he spins straight round and gets on my case , follows me for 5 mins ,im waiting the lights...

so he puts em on, i pull over n out he gets, i wind down the window n say alright mate , he says hello justa quick check, hes eying up the car n going ..loving the car you dont see so many these days its clean isnt it, he walks past me , sort of squats down by the wing and looks down over the bonnet towards the front of the car "ahhh i love the e30 shape" he says :D , what a bonnet to look down over, he was more interested in the car than me, asking me the milage, how much it was n how long ive had it, shines his torch on the back seat "mtech cloth interior" i like it, i like it

then says, well just a quick routing check :D ,not bene drinking have you ? checks my details, then says have a nice drive and look after the car

i get it quite a bit, and being black, girls say its a proper bad boy car  :)

super mate, i love fords !! theres a thread on here somewhere with my red one, have a search for xr3 and ford escort, mines an xr3 re shell, non inj rosso red, the shell is as mint as youl find for a useable non show car, i would love an rs1600i in sunburst...one of my dream cars ive always wanted to own, but where i have my one, and also own an e30, the idea of paying 4k for a nice rs, has lessened in sensibility i spose, i do love old fords !

my nana is the biggest fan of my e30, she goes round telling everybody that her grandson has restored a classic bmw :D
Then there's my friend who bonded with it so much she officially named it after her late grandad (and its stuck, ALL of my mates refer to it by its name 100% of the time)
Not forgetting the time i was sat at the parts desk in Cotswold Gloucester and one of the guys came in and said 'is that your 325 outside mate?' I said yeah and he gets this huuuuge grin on his face and says 'thats nice mate, you best look after it!'
I told him i do, thats why i'm in there every month handing over copious amounts of hard earned!

On the E28:

'Ummmm, it's not exactly aesthetically pleasing, is it?'

...and, much better, while chatting with a pretty hot girl about it..

'Yeah, I'm going to take it on a road trip to Germany when it's done.'

'Oh wow, can I come?' :D
