It deffo matters about the LHD. There is a lot of info over on the BMWCC forum about people being uninsured because they are LHD!! even though they were only made like that.

I got my quote through peter best insuance. It's a classic policy. 5k miles IIRC. I'm 27 with a load of NCB and no accidents. I live in Croydon, so not exactly the cheapest of insurance postcodes. I paid Ԛ£320 ish agreed value, fully comp.

was the cheapest by miles. other policies were Ԛ£550-600 all the way up to Ԛ£1800!!

Yeah, definfitely matters that the car is left hand drive, you'll also have fun with the confusion it causes too, especially when the car is a UK supplied car, and you tell them "it's LHD", then they say s"o it's an import"?, then you say "no" then they say then "why is it LHD" and so and so forth, when you finally get to the bottom of it though, just make sure they have it down as LHD on the policy, because if the worst happens, then don't expect any payout!

I'm with Adrian Flux BTW, 25YO, 5 yrs NCB and paying Ԛ£475 fully comp.

Speedo clocks should be in Miles per hour, not little stickers on them, also i think the dealer will be able to provide information with a Vin number.

Ditto all the other posts. LHD is only a problem if you want it to be. I have had my car now for 6 years and never experienced a 'problem'. I have a hand-lever picker-upperer in the car for those car park moments and as for McDonalds, dont go there and would prefer to get out and watch others drooling into their dinner at the sight of my car

I have changed insurance companies every year because the premiums have always gone up on renewal or cover is no longer available. I am paying Ԛ£455, ungaraged, 5K miles in Gt. London borough......and I think that is too much.

Best thing is to ring round.....and strangely enough by modifying the brakes and suspension, but not the power output could make you insurance less......especially through Adrian Flux (not my favourite brokers)...my old XR4i was cheaper to insure modified!!

I really wouldn't worry about wether it's a UK car or not though, you will really be limiting yourself by looking for a UK supplied car!

Im with Bell Direct. www.belldirect.co.uk I pay just over a Grand FC with no restrictions on miles.

I found that a lot of companies wont touch M3s because "A lot of them were stolen in the 1980s"

When I asked about a Cossie though that was no problem. So work that out if you can

HIC!

They are they only one's which didn't bother about the modifications.
Quote was about 480 ish can't remember. I am currently with Carole Nash
as a classic (who surprisingly renewed my insurance one I told them I will go elsewere....)
