Oil and water. The oil light went out and the water was just about to be bleed.
They thing ran and was reving. The thing sounded good. I cant fooking believe it, I suspect that the bores are slightly tight as it was tight to turn over on the stand but i put it down to being new rings etc!
I am on the floar

Just had the call from Dez about this, I thought he was messing about, but the tone of his voice told me otherwise. Hope it's a glitch and not a total rebuild. Had oil pressure by all accounts and was just about to bleed the cooling system when it shut down.
Fingers crossed for you mate

Whats the best advice here to try and avoid any damage and get it going - any preventative measure that can be taken before trying to start. Thats gut wrenching - just about to start an engine build myself.

the bores were done to M3 pistons. I think they are 86mm.
The rings were new and for S50B30.

Dez, I'm speechless.
If I were in your position I'd be suicidal. I know what I felt like when my first 2.7 ran-up the white flag and I'd had 20k miles out of it.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......
