Really interesting story but the bit about the links with the Mclaren F1 interests me...

The author is quick to point out the engine has no relation to the unit that ended up in the F1, after some thought I would be inclined to say :bs:

Maybe my conspiracy head is on but what he is suggesting is that BMW built two V12's both with very similar capacities and power ouputs in the space of what 2/3 years? The capacity of the M8 is said to be bigger than 5.0 and the F1 is what? 6.0?

The plot further thickens for me when you consider that BMW had a fully functioning prototyoe of a car years ahead of it's time yet locked it away from the public eye for 20+ years? This to me suggests they wanted to hide something.

As said this pure speculation but what the hell it brightened up my evening :D
