I have to ship a eta crank/rods/pistons abroad and due to a shoulder injury I can't bloody lift it myself, what a wimp I am :D

Has anyone ever weighed one or shipped one to know?

This would save me some time/hassle and pain if you can help.

Thanks,

Mark.

ETK says....

Crank 24 kgs (this includes the bearings)
6 x con rods 3.756 kg (includes piston bush, cap and cap bolts)
6 x pistons 3.168 kg (less the rings ??)

Total = 30.924

It goes............VRRRRROOOOOOMMMMM PSCCCHHHTT!!! LOL

ok, more, tick, tick tick, psccht, tick, tick, tick :D

Bloody manifold is blowing due to a missing head stud, I've also found two small leaks in the welding we did, so I'll get them sorted when I swap heads at the weekend.

But it's fast, fun and not as bad on juice as I thought it would be, Ԛ£40 see's 200miles and thats only 50-70 down on N/A consumption.

We had a play with a SL55 AMG on the way home tonight, say 70-130 a few times, the looks you get when you aint that far behind is worth every penny mate, but I'm sure you know the feeling with your sleeper.

4th gear is like 2nd gear now, soooo much pull and only on 5psi, so lots more to come yet!

(before anyone says, yes it was much much faster, but I still kept pace in traffic :D )

Sounds cool mate

I'm getting tempted by the call of the dump valve :) i might go turbo charged eventually after i see what these TB's do for my performance.

Whats the spread of power like ? i.e. where it starts and ends boosting in the rev range ?

I get full boost at about 2.5k, then i wimp out at 5k, I have soft cut a 5k too, then full cut at 5.5k, I have hit soft cut and that's caught me out a few times, but usually I'll change up at 4.5k anyway, due to leaks, noise, me being a wimp etc.

As the compression is std I still get good pickup and still the same performance if I stay off boost, I guess when the boost rises I'll start to really notice when it kicks in a bit more, at the mo it's very smooth, no lag as such.

Just need to pluck up the courage to swap the head over myself and then see if the system will hold more boost, it has the potential for 15+, but head gaskets are gonna be the weak link I think, the guys at bavaria motors in Oz seem to think std head bolts are good for 20psi, so will stick with them for now.

I'm also reluctant to give it a good thrashing as I'm still awaiting my laptop, when I can see all is well under the hood I will give it some more beans for sure.

I've been to see a exhaust specialist about having a straight through 3 inch pipe, turbo to backbox, but the bends will be quite tricky, they're gonna give it a go, they think that will help no end.

I also want rid of centre box as at the mo I have no real exhaust note at all, very quiet, well apart from that damm ticking

Be nice to see what its like at the top end of the revs once you have the leaks sorted, it would do my nut in only having 5.5k rpm but you have got to play it safe until you are ready i guess.

Couldn't you find any one who could sort that stud out with out removing your head ? Would Ant be able to do it ?
