Hello everyone

Long time no speak. I have since taken the 335i on the track for a drift session and found a few things to alter eg rear camber etc.

I have been thinking about fitting a turbo to the 335i.

I wondered if anyone else has done that on here. I was wondering if an 'ebay special' M20 turbo manifold could be altered for the M30. Are the flanges the same?

If they are the same flanges wouldn't it be just a case of altering the spacing?

Any help would be greatful.

Regards Steven

In the process of turboing an m30 at the min. M20 manis are too much work to adapt, im having to have one custom made. Other than that its quite simple, you can use standard management with a mappable chip, standard internals can take upto 450bhp and you can swap the throttle boddie to the other side of the mani like alpina did. It can be a cheap build (if you need it to be)

Thats great news!! I have been quoted £600 for a custom manifold :(
Where abouts can you get it mapped?

Any how much for the complete conversion? Will there need to be uprated injectors?

Have a look at this.

600 sounds abit cheap? mine is alot more than that but it depends on the finish you want. Im using gtr injectors and omex 710. Not sure were you get the chips mapped as its an american company that sells them.

Thank you for everyones input. Lots to look into and research now. So go with that quote for the manifold then. It's a mates rate.

Thanks again

Hello there

I have been doing some research and I was wondering where is best to take the oil feeds for the turbo?

I have got the E28 oil filter housing with the outlets for the oil cooler. Can the feed be taken from here and then to the cooler?

Any help would be greatful as I can't find much on this. I don't really want to take the engine out to turbo.

Take the feed of the oil pressure switch at the back of the head. I had a adaptor made to fit a take off and switch on. I also had a oil return pipe welded onto the sump.
