There is no real way to keep it from dulling mate... Wax will prevent it somewhat but it will always dull... Most car companies now dont paint with what we call solid colours anymore as this is the result.. Now they tend to use the clear over base method like you get with a metalic colour..

Anyway if you are real keen you can have the car chopped back and flow coated with clear as this will definitely stop it but pretty pricey though..

Sorry I cant bring better news my friend but just a lot of TLC is what it needs

My e30 was in the same state years ago, put a decent paint sealant on and then some wax, after that avoid washing the car with strong shampoo use somthing thats ph nuetral, and wax on a regular basis

close, its an m52. Red is a high maintence paint but i quite enjoy washing my car and i dont like it being dirty so it doesnt bother me too much

Red is easy compared to black [never again].
i have some pics of my e30 coated with victoria wax on my website.
saying that my has not seen the road in 2 years [just finished the project, for now]
and it's summer use only as from next year.

Red will always need care and attention - my last touring wasn't called The Pink Panther for nothing!
Proper shampoo to wash, good quality polish and waxshould keep on top of it, but it will need regular work.

hi. i got it back to red using tesco paint restorer with a electric buffer and a water spray gun so as not to burn paint. then i waxed with carplan triple wax polish. kev

some e30's and e24's which were painted zinnobar red were a base and clear coat from the factory

the red just fades undeneath the laquer

you'll find the same happens with most reds, vauxhall flame red is another example
