----------------------------------------
My name is James Owen Fender. I am a musician, producer and songwriter from Leeds. I also run a club night and record label called Plumpton Presents which is distributed by Warner Bros.
This is me

I was previously signed to Island Records but due to management changes at the label when I was in Los Angeles recording my debut album, things went tits up. I had to sue the label and leave their roster due to their negation of terms in the contract.
My first single The Cloud is out on Monday 4th October through Plumpton Presents Records. Below are links to the music video for The Cloud and to the Plumpton website:

Here is the artwork for the single:

Rob da Bank (The owner of Bestival) requested The Cloud and played it on his BBC Radio 1 show. Following this, Rob has invited me to record a live session at BBC Maida Vale studios on September 23rd. I will be playing 3 songs and giving an interview.
MTV Playground have featured the video for the single on the main page of their website (selected out of 15,000 artist), Rock Sound are featuring the single next month, Disorder mag have requested an interview and online press so far has been extremely positive.
Spoonfed.co.uk:”aIts nostalgic, poetic and catchy as hell”a - 4/5.
Rhythm-and-booze.co.uk: ”aThe Cloud is a fantastic stirring introduction to the creative genius that is James Owen Fender”a - 9/10
Redhotvelvet.co.uk: ”aThe Cloud is by far the indie hit of the year, James Owen Fender is the future of British indie”a - 5/5
Things are starting to pick up momentum which is very encouraging.
I have been a member of E30zone since April. I love E30 BMWs (I am currently looking to purchase my first one
After speaking to Steve, E30zone.net would like to back and promote my debut single to try to get it into the UK top 40 chart and I would like to ask fellow zoners to get on board as well.
I require 500 sales to get into the top 40, at which point other doors will open and playlisting on Radio 1 will come into place. This will heighten my profile which in turn will set up my album release in 2011.
How can you help? If you know anyone who writes for a website/paper/mag who might feature the single, put me in contact or 'ave a word
Currently, MTV won't play music videos for new artists like myself until they've had a hit. They play god awful TV shows such as My sweet 16 and Miami Ink. 4music only feature artists signed to Universal Music because the whole thing is bankrolled by Universal Music. There are few avenues to take for an artist like myself at this stage of their career and it would be great to have an army of E30 drivers on board, backing me.
Wow, this turned into an awfully long post... I hope you didn't fall asleep reading it!
