The tailgate on my tourer is driving me mad! With every dip or hole in the road the tailgate rattles as it doesn't seem to be catching very well. Also the boot space light stays on unless the tailgate is pushed down, but comes back on when released. Is there any way of tightening the catch? I had a look at it but it seems fairly fixed.

The latch mounted to the tailgate has a small nut attatched, try adjusting it until the tailgate requires a firm slam to get it to catch.

You adjust the loop that goes into the catch. Theres an 8mm or 10mm nut on one side of it. Back it off a bit, spin the one behind it down a bit and retighten the first. Repeat as necessary. You can also adjust the 2 rubber bump stops at the side to get the panel flush with the bodywork,
