Does anyone know where i can get these? Which cars they came with?
Me and Demlotcrew are after these and some Alpenis Y-fronts too if anyone knows about them.
Saw some alpina Y's on ebay with a proper hand stitched logo on them but the guy wanted Ԛ£40 for them! what a joker
Thanks guys

i've got the front on after not too much swearing this week. Just building up my strength patience for the rear one this weekend!
I've noticed a massive difference with just the front alone. With the strut brace too, I feel the shocks and springs are showing their real worth now when cornering. Very impressed so far.
Starting to feel like a complete package now and it inspiring driving now. The car is just so flat.
So if H&R make ARB's of the same diameter as these hartge bars them BUY THEM!!!! one of the best mods imo Andy. Let u know when i get the rear on on too!

Uprated roll bars make a big differance, i had some M5 Touring roll bars on my old E34 and loved them.
It was cheaper to get them brand new from BMW than buying aftermarket ones like H+R !!
I think i paid about 210 for both bars with new D clamps and bushs.
I didn't know about the diameter of the H+Rs, when i get around to changing them i will be using H+Rs !

This is the feeling I get from the Hartge recipe.....once you get that 'package' right the handling is fantastic. This is one of the understated mods which Hartge got spot on with the beefed up ARB coupled with their springs and billy sports.....Simon13 wrote:i've got the front on after not too much swearing this week. Simon, did you fit the strut brace before you did the front arb? I have ordered one of the sparco jobbies off the zone shop and am just waiting for it to arrive and was curious as to what change you noticed if you did the brace in isolation?

Lee i fitted the brace before the roll bars
I noticed with the strut brace that it soaks up alot of the bumps in the road and makes the ride better, but also noticed a good difference in the handling. What i've found with the brace and the bars is i feel i'm getting full use now out of my springs and shocks. U can feel them working more when cornering which is nice as they cost a bloody lot!
I was speaking to jonb at ace cafe last nite about the bars and he agreed with me, that adding things like these, often over looked components that these change an E30 from a quite lairy in the wet old skool RWD car into a very good handling car. I can't believe the difference they are definately a must if u love the bends.
Did u know that 325i cabbys came with a 22mm front roll bar which is the same as the hartge one! but i expect u cannot buy a fat rear bar on it's own. Oh and they are an utter f**king nightmare to fit if u ask me!

so no one is up for a few pairs for christmas then?
We could get E30 zone chunderpants made maybe? 3 types, Y fronts, "briefs" and boxers.
They could be kept in davetourings car for when u go out for a ride with him and soil on the leather seats.
oh by the way
David and Malco are in BMW car mag on the write up about Gaydon, in the middle of the big picture of the field. Dave has a green top on and still looks 9 foot tall. He is next to his and my car i think but is small. So have a look
Well done boys ya famous

so does the E30 Hartge suspension package include ordinary Bilstein sport shocks (rather than ones specially made for Hartge)?HartgeH27 wrote:This is the feeling I get from the Hartge recipe.....once you get that 'package' right the handling is fantastic. You sure the Hartge bar is 16mm rear? Kevin @ Birds said it was 18mm.
Seeing as Hartge bars are no longer available - H&R seems to be the only choice.

Sal i'm not 100% sure i always thought it was 18mm also but never measured.
When i get my hartge bars back ( they are fitted on Demlotcrew's car!) then i will measure them properly cos if it's 18mm then i can settle for these as they cost me Ԛ£100 and were brand new never fitted! So i can save Ԛ£300 on some H&R's and lose the 2 way adjustment on the rear
BUT!
consulting my Racing Dynamic's book
they offered the following
23mm
22mm front both 2 way adjust
16mm
15mm rear both 2 way adjust
could hartge of been the same?!
RD drop links are also tasty and very different to bmw standard ones
U can still buy this stuff from the USA for not to bad money!
