This is the job for this weekend. I have heard its a really nasty job to do.
Any instructions on how to do this would be very much appreciated.
Anyone???
Many Thanks in advance for anyone's wisdom.

hi mate , someone was asking about this last week, and i think it was agreed that it is a nightmare job best left to a garage, unless you have a fully equipped garage at your disposal and a mechanic friend on standby.

Heed the advice. This was the ONLY job, when completely rebuilding the suspension of an E30 for my Kit car, that I had to seek "outside help" for. The problem is that the inner race gets left in the suspension arm and you need a BIG press to get it out. You can save yourself Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ though by stripping the suspension arm out yourself and taking it to your local garage. Cost me a tenner for both sides.....
Cheers

we use a three foot slide hammer to wheel bearings, so yeah!
but you cant just bolt the hammer on and then start smashing away at it. you gotta do it right, otherwise you'll shag your drive shaft and your hub mount

I need my rear bearings doing on my cab as they are sooooo noisy when i get to 30 mph, they are unbearable on the motorway i carnt go over 60-70 because the whining/droning noise is so bad,
i have gone to a few garages and bmw specialists in manchester and most of them have told me they dont wanna touch it due to it being a huge pain in the ass job and some have quoted me between Ԛ£300-400 to change the 2 rear bearings which is just daylight robbery!
i am just putting up with it until i can get a garage who can do it for a resonable price.

Right, the o/s/r wheel bearing got done today! Only took me just over an hour and it wernt too much hassle...
Im gonna PM Dan325iSport all the instructions, as he's asked me for some help, so if any of you uvva bruvva's want some advice, then let me or him know.
I also managed to get rid of the fuel smells inside the cabin. It was the 2" fuel lines underneath the inlet manifold, the delivary and return. They'd perished over time, and made the car STINK inside, so, advice is there too.
Keep it real people!!!!

Yes it's a hard job but still feasable with the rear bearing tool (home made). It took me about two hours each. I wan't advise you the hammer way
Try to get that tool (see Heynes book) from a garage.

I've got to do mine, I was going to take the arms out and use a hydraulic press, change the trailing arm bushes at the same time.
