Ok, started off I was going to do a little project of putting in a couple 10" subwoofers. After everything is set up and ready to go, I noticed I had no power to the head unit. Not even the switched power to eject the CD in it. After that, I noticed a few other things. My tach went out, no movement at all. The analog clock doesn't function ie adjust time (backlight works, however). And lastly (that I've noticed) the interior lights do not come on with either doors open. The switch in the door jam is good, as I can hear it actuating when pressed and released.

All fuses looked good. Some weren't the side view clear-type. I could see down from above them and look at the metal strip. Is this the correct way to check these kind? If no, none were blown.

I played with all the wires that have to do with stereo power, and nothing happened. I have a hunch it's something else, as seen from all the other problems.

Any ideas?

checked again, and found that 21 was the problem. Still one thing though... The oil light on the check panel is on. The oil light on the dash panel isn't though, and as of about a month ago, I know it worked fine.

I had exactly the same problem with my lights/clock. The manual i've got was pointing me at the wrong fuses. Thanks Willnz

My oil light on the check panel also lights up periodically. I'm very meticulous about the oil level in the car, so i know theres no problem there. Where is the sensor located for the oil level?

Isn't that straight down and in the top of the oil pan, as being looked down at from the passenger side? If not, this probably makes me look like a total git
