Is it turning over and not starting or not turning over at all?
Has it been standing for a while?

a would do a compression test next after checking spark/fuel , just to double check the timing hasent went out and bent a few valves

and regarding the ews , its getting fuel and spark so cant be ews , well a dont think :P

still a learner with these bm engines

yeah the ews will prob stop injectors firing or spark so cant be that. when turning over there seems to be pleanty of compression there is a good puff of vapour/air if you know what i mean

yeah know what u mean , u can hear loss of compression

if it has compression , spark and fuel , theres lots a other wee things that could effect , clogged exhaust sumwhere , cat , maybe MAF problem or sumthing like a engine temp sensor altering the air/fuel mixture

should maybe run a diagnostic on it , maybe one a the local members that have carsoft could help out

saves alot a trail and error

yeah i know what you mean. there is no exhaust on it at all so cant be that. would have thought it would at least try and start if its getting fuel and spark?

Is the battery a good one?

Mine wouldnt start after just been run. It had been sat for about a week whilst in the process of finishing the conversion, drove it off the drive but it wouldnt start an hour later to move it back.
Even though the battery seemed fine (it would start other cars no problem and was in daily use on my touring), it wouldnt fire up the S50 - after checking everything, a new battery solved it.

Clean the plugs up (they will clog up quickly if you have been trying to start it) and stick another/new battery on.

thanks will look into a new battery to. got if fired up tho seems to to start if you leave the fuel pump going for about 20 seconds to get the fuel up then it will start. seems the fuel is running back to the tank when not running ???

It will, but maybe the pressure regulator is not maintaining enough pressure in the fuel rail. If the pressure is low in the rail when you crank there isn't enough pressure to start but you will still get damp plugs.

I would change the plugs even though you might clean them etc and they still spark but it might not be enough of a spark to ignite the fuel. I always keep my old spark plugs from each service I do becuase once I got the same symptoms as you, I put in my old dry plugs and the car started up first go.

mine is not starting, ive spoke to ant and asked gunni a couple of questions,,

mine is an m reg m3 s50b30, i drove it 30 miles, went to pull over and ignition light came on and it just stopped, wouldnt start again,

it has been sitting round for some time, done about 2k in the last year? it had basically no fuel in it, and had to drive about a mile the the petrol station.

as above the plugs were wet not soaking , the pump is working on crank over, the plugs have seen better days need to replace them,

have taken out the cam sensors and cleaned as they were gunked up, found that the wires were sort of loose, side to side not pulling out?

put back together and it turned over a few times popped a couple of times the battery was flat.

yesterday it flamed once back through the airbox.

need to check for spark , any thing else to look for?
if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?
