Finally got my first E30. To say i'm chuffed would an understatement!

She's a 1990 318iS in diamond schwartz metallic with 126k on the clock

Factory fitted ABS

Fitted 60/40 Spax lowering springs on Saturday which I'm very impressed with, they lowered the car sufficiently and the handling has definately improved without the car shaking you to pieces on the B-roads

Lots of plans so I'll keep y'all posted as they progress

I just know someone from the zone whose son had just sold an iS to somone on Ireland, but I am sure this car was from the Newcastle area so must have been a different car.

Ahh! They're becoming very popular over here. I can see why now I have one 8)

Do you know where I could get a new set of carpets for the boot? EPC and GSF dont seem to do them. If they arent available new I'll just get a second hand set but I'd prefer new ones

not sure about trim/upholstery etc, the odds are you can no longer get hold of this type of stuff but I could be completely wrong.

Best thing to do is see if anyone else has any ideas where to source this stuff new and if no success just put up a wanted ad in the relevant section.

Smithy318i is always dismembering an E30 and JonB is always a good source of parts, try Dazleeds too, he has most of yorkshire's E30 population on his driveway and normally only 1 of them works :teehee:

i'll ask about and see, theres a BMW scrappy up the road from me so i'll head up there if they arent available new, I think postage on a set of carpets would be rather difficult!

she is a beaut, very cool car. Those lowering springs give the car a nice stance.

looks good buddy, I bought my iS recently to and am well chuffed with it.

I'm abotu to drop the suspension to was going to go for the 60/40 but unsure how well that would work with the 16" rims that are going on too

If anyone can offer some advice that would be awsome

Well those are 15inch BBS wheels with fat ass tyres on them so I'd say that 16's with lower profile tyres would have a very similar rolling diameter. They'll sit fine. I'm going to refurb my wheels in the next week or so and will be fitting my girlfriends old 16inch Schmidt wheels so that'lll show you exactly how it sits with 16's on :D

New shoes! refurbed standard BBS 15" with polished lip. Have also fitted smoked front and side indicators and German-style plates. going for the dirty/evil/german/euro look 8)

Image

still got a few little niggly things to sort out. want to smoke the rest of the lights and repaint the valances too. apart from that i'm very happy with her, hasnt missed a beat at all, starts better in the cold than my previous cars that were much much younger, fires up straight away and idles perfectly. also passed MOT first time yesterday.
