The dash lights on my cabby are all staying on, anybody got any ideas what this might be? Possibly bad earth somewhere? If so where is it likely to be? Could it be the alternater packed up? Any help would be appreciated

Are the headlights switching off ok?
I had a similar problem, where my lights wouldn't go off. Turned out to be the headlight (rotary) switch was getting pushed into the dash, but wasn't switching off the lights. A new rotary switch solved the problem.

No it's neither of those problems, it's a bit intermittent which is why I suspect it could be the alternater

Then get the alternator checked as you suspected this might be the culprit. Worth a shot

Yeah I was gonna replace the alternater anyway, just wondered if there was any other things to check. Can anyone tell me if it would make a difference what amp alternater I used? Would 90a be best for a cab?
