Hey Zoners,

This might sound silly...

But I've decided to revive an old set of e30 leathers to household furniture... Possibly use and old 2 seater metal frame and bolt on the complete rear bench.... or even use office chairs for the two front seats.

anyone got any ideas how to best achieve this, or has anyone done this..? winkeye

Any help would be great!! :)

Sell them on eBay and buy a sofa, :D

It's up to you mate, they use car seats on top gear

Interesting idea, problems that I can see include mounting the base, you'll need to design/build a frame similar to the car's for the rear seat...
Fronts will be easy by comparison, just need a simple frame to lift them to a suitable height.

Bolt to an mdf base and build a box around that the height you want it, considered the same but sold on ebay instead - didn't have anywhere to put a new sofa :)

How about, for the rear seat, cutting the rear bulkhead, seatbase and inner wings from a scrap car?
Place these bits into an MDF base and you have a 3 seater sofa with armrests!

We have done this with a front seat out of an old Saab 900 turbo for the office - very comfortable.
